Keaton's 1st Birthday

My good friend, Abby, has a little one her turned one recently and she asked me if I would make cupcakes for the party. It was a fishing theme, and the party was so cute.  Abby had a giant water activity center for the kids to play on, and Tanner had a BLAST.  We need one of these in our back yard!

2010 Cowboy Gallop

Every year Pleasanton, the "birthplace of the cowboy", has an annual "Cowboy Homecoming" celebration. They have a festival in the park with live music at night, and it is kicked off with a 5k run that is sponsored by the local newspaper.  For the past two years, Amy and I have run this race together and Clinton was able to join us this year since his parents were in town to watch Tanner. Randy came out to support us and took a few pictures.  Our times were terrible, but it was about 4000 degrees outside and 200% humidity so we will use the weather as our excuse =)

Visit from GiGi, GPaw, and YaYa

My dad left in June to do a project overseas in Saudi Arabia and he gets to come home every 8 weeks for a two week visit.  When they came, my aunt came down too and we all got to visit and spend some time together. We went out to the back and picked a watermelon (as I'm sure you can tell is one of our favorite activities) and cut it open. We also shelled beans that my aunt had brought from a market she had been to. We had a great time until "tragedy" struck =).  My Aunt Linda had brought me an awesome yellow table that she had found at a resale store and we set it in the middle of the living room to shell the beans on. After dinner, Tanner was jumping up and down on the couch and lost her footing and fell into the table.  Clinton picked her up immediately since she was crying and held her close. He pulled her back to see where she had hit herself and yelled to me because her face and the front of her body was covered in blood. She had hit her head right over her left eyebrow and it was bleeding pretty bad.  We took her to the emergency room, along with GiGi and YaYa, while GPaw went to the store to get her some ice cream for when she returned home.  They glued her wound and she was good to go. She was very brave with the doctor, and let him do whatever he needed. It was our first official trip to the emergency room for a child, but I'm sure it won't be the last!

Trip to Kathryn and Justin's

Every couple of months we make a point to see some very good friends of ours, Kathryn, Justin, and Jackson Brumley.  Kathryn and I met when we were 13 years old and have been friends ever since.  We enjoy spending time with them so much, and just wish we got to see them more often.  We took a trip to their house for the weekend and had a great time. We had a shrimp boil on Saturday, and the food was amazing. They did a great job. Tanner and Jackson are nine months apart, and really enjoyed playing together while we were there. We miss them every time we leave!

Jackson's amazing snack tower. He is one lucky boy!

They started off in the bath together, but it only lasted a minute or two. Jackson was not a fan!

SeaWorld

We recently went to SeaWorld with our good friends, Alma and Addison, and it was the first time Tanner had gotten to go. It was about 105 degrees outside that day, and I was smart and didn't pack an umbrella stroller so I ended up carrying Tanner around most of the park. If you have ever been to SeaWorld you know that the park is very spread out. Needless to say, I was exhausted that night! Alma was nine months pregnant, though, and she hung in there all day. I was impressed! We saw a few shows and Tanner and I got to ride on the Shamu roller coaster. She thought it was the greatest thing ever! The best part of the whole day was getting to pet a dolphin. I have never gotten to do that at SeaWorld before, and it was really neat.  The dolphin that we got to pet was named Bree, and she was two just like Tanner! It was so much fun!

Our 6th Anniversary

For our anniversary this year my wonderful aunt, Tanner's YaYa, offered to take her overnight so that we could go out. We were so excited, and so thankful that she would do that for us. We ate at Macaroni Grill and went to the bookstore afterward. I know that sounds like the most boring date ever, but eating out and going to bookstores are two things that we used to do a lot of and never get to do anymore so we were very excited about it! Tanner got to watch movies that YaYa rented from the library, and when she was asked where she wanted to eat she immediately said "Whataburger". We thought that was very random and very funny! They played at the park and had a great time without us.  Thank you, YaYa, for letting us celebrate our anniversary!

Tennis

Before we had Tanner, Clinton and I used to love to play each other in tennis. We played a lot in college, since it was free =), and we played some after we moved to Missouri City.  We hadn't gotten to play since then, so we decided to take Tanner to the high school to play.  It was so much fun. She started getting frustrated toward the end, though, and it was time to call it quits.
I love these pictures. He was totally not being serious!

Snow White and The Seven Amigos

We love going to the Magik Theater, a children's theater in San Antonio, to see a play every time a new one comes out. This time it was Snow White and the Seven Amigos and it was hilarious. I really enjoyed it, and Tanner and Maddie did too. We brought a picnic to eat at the park right outside the theater after the show.

After each show, the kids stand in line and get the characters to sign autographs. It's really cute!
