Tanner's first haircut

Tanner got her first haircut the week that Scarlett was born and it is sooooo cute!! We took her to a place in San Antonio that does kids' hair and she thought it was really neat. She got to sit in a car and watch Barney while she got her hair cut. It was really sad for me to see her baby hair go. That was the first hair that she ever had, and it was chopped off in no time flat. She is definitely growing up and I can't stop it!

Movie Night!!

We had a movie night complete with popcorn and a pallet on the floor. We dimmed the lights and started the show, and Tanner really seemed to enjoy it.

The next morning, Tanner got to have cereal and milk for the first time and she is HOOKED! She loved it. I guess I better start trying to figure out which ones are actually good for you!

This is Tanner's Tinkerbell blanket. Her Aunt Rachel gave it to her for Christmas and she is in love with it!!

Our Little Artist

Santa Claus brought Tanner a new easel for Christmas this year, and she LOVES to paint.  She loves the easel in general, but she especially likes to paint. I like this particular easel because it has cup holders for the paint cups and the paint cups are almost impossible to spill.  She and I are both in love!

 I especially love her outfit in this picture.  Tanner received this tutu from her YaYa for Christmas and there is very little that she does around the house without it.

Riding our bike

Tanner absolutely LOVES riding her bike. This particular day, she kept telling me over and over that she wanted to ride her bike. However, she wouldn't let me put her jacket on and it was about 35 degrees outside. Needless to say, we were only out there for about 10 minutes before we were back inside, but I was able to snap a few pictures of her.

I was lucky enough to get to take some pictures of Scarlett when she was a few days old. She is such a good baby, and she was so much fun to photograph!

The Big Day

On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, we welcomed the newest member of our family.....Scarlett Reece Mitschke! Haley was induced that morning around 5:00am. They broke her water around 7:00am and her contractions started hurting pretty badly at that point. When I got to the hospital around 9:30, she was getting her epidural. I was glad I got there then, because I heard she was (understandably) a lot of fun to be around before that! I do have to give her credit, though, because she spent the morning apologizing to everyone for being grumpy. She had been progressing pretty slowly throughout the morning, so when they checked her at 2:00pm and said she was ready to push we were all shocked! She started pushing a little after 2:00 and Scarlett was born at 3:19pm. She was 7lbs 11oz, and 18.5 inches long.
