Trip to Devine Acres

Today we took a trip with a group of girls and their kids to a pumpkin patch in Devine called Devine Acres. It was really neat. They had a hay ride, a fishing pond, duck races, a petting zoo, a place where the kids could "search for gold", a pumpkin theater, and a grill. It was really neat. Tanner had a really good time. We rode with Cassie and Madison, our friends, and Tanner and Madison had a good time watching the other kids and exploring everything. It rained off and on, so it was a pretty nasty day. We had a great time anyway, though.

Well, aside from our trip, we have had a few other things going on. We have officially started the second week of Clinton's shutdown, so we are well on our way to the end. We can't wait for it to be over and for our lives to return to normal. It will be good for Tanner, too. When we got home this afternoon she wouldn't take a nap. It was as if she just wanted to play because Daddy was home. Tonight, I went to the gym to go to kickboxing and she fell asleep in the car on the way there. I had to wake her up to bring her in and she started crying when I dropped her off in the day care area and wouldn't stop. I left the class after 15 minutes because she was so tired and couldn't stop crying. She is sound asleep now, so hopefully she will feel better tomorrow when we are back on our normal schedule. She is doing so many neat things now. She has learned to give real kisses instead of the open-mouthed ones she was giving before. Now she puckers her lips and gives us a kiss and says M-A instead of MWA. It is really cute. She also knows where her belly button is. We say "Tanner, where's your belly button?" and she pulls her shirt up with one hand and points to her belly button with the other. It is the cutest thing in the world!!
